The platform was generic enough to be used by multiple products in the company. I’ve learned a lot about software architecture, API design, data processing pipelines in Google Cloud, and the hard task of splitting the core of a monolith Ruby on Rails application into meaningful Golang microservices. I worked on a project which delivered a full video distribution solution, from media ingestion and encoding to catalog compilation and global distribution, for both VOD and live streaming. Our team’s main goal was to turn that large C# project, originally made for a single customer, into a scalable SaaS product.
