Key responsibilities in my role as Grant and Special Project Manager include building and sustaining funding relationships, winning grant proposals, and producing impactful reports on awarded funds. I liaise with our board and also lend support to our CEO in her capacity as a chief fundraiser.

As an executive assistant with the operations team, I provide support with scheduling, creating summary reports, project and event management, and more. This work behind the scenes empowers my colleagues to work efficiently in their specialized skills, furthering our goals of advancing voting reforms.My most exciting project to-date was planning the 2023 Staff Retreat with a small task force and conducting a detailed after-action report to analyze its success.

Alongside my external teaching roles, I was an expert mentor, coaching teachers across the country as they learned, practiced, and implemented the Modern Classroom framework. Currently, I support the Distinguished Modern Classroom Educator and Mentor Academy credentialing programs by reviewing submissions and providing feedback.

One of my favorite methods of storytelling is photography. I’ve always believed that photos contain a truth that can’t be disputed–a moment that will remain forever. In my role as a newborn photographer with Bella Baby Photography, I had the privilege of capturing the earliest pages of a child’s story. While my focus was on the details of photography and editing, this position involved a great deal of sales, customer service, and marketing.Despite this being a part-time role for me, I noticed early on the disparity in accessibility for our service; parents and families who didn't speak English were often just passed over without much explanation. To combat this, I developed a special slideshow to target Spanish-speaking families, explaining our service, the benefits, the cost. Sometimes, families would elect not to use our service, but I was happier knowing that they had full understanding of the offer.

I created my own curriculum for 9th and 10th grade students to reflect relevant social issues and connect students with diverse voices. I also served as a sponsor for Poetry Club and Crime Club. The greatest project I coordinated was TMA Cares 2020, where students in all grades received a set of winter gifts.

I supervised and mentored a year-long student teacher, documented her progress in teaching, and participated in coaching meetings.

I created daily program agendas and activities for the Athletic Department while ensuring camper safety and well-being. I supervised 15+ counselors and evaluated their performance.

As a tenth-grade English teacher at Dunbar High School, I customized District-mandated curriculum and supplemented with engaging texts and creative activities to raise student PARCC scores.

In addition to leading athletic activities, I coached campers as they created a script, rehearsed their play, and designed costumes.
