Empowering others, telling stories, and advocating for justice are my life’s goals; these passions have led me to pursue opportunities across sectors. FairVote’s mission of working toward better elections for all aligns with my desire for justice. As Grant and Special Project Manager, I pair my storytelling and writing skills with the actual needs to enable critical programmatic work through the support of our partners and donors.Another method for storytelling is photography. I’ve always believed that photos contain a truth that can’t be disputed–a moment that will remain forever. My present focus in photography is portraits, whether it’s a cat showing its best side in hopes of adoption at Tails High Cat Rescue, a dog hoping for a foster with Perfectly Paired Pitties (P3) Rescue, or candid family photos with my freelance work.Although I have stepped out of the classroom, my heart remains with education. I still consider myself a curriculum nerd with a strong desire to contribute to equitable practices in education. My work with the Modern Classroom Project allows me to stay connected to teachers across the globe who are implementing this new method of instruction and delivery, and providing support for their innovation is a bright spot in my week. Currently, my main contributions with MCP involve scoring submissions for Distinguished Modern Classroom Educators and providing feedback on special projects.I’m a proud aunt to nine nieces and nephews, and I host a rotating roster of foster animals.
