I collaborate with product management and IT to identify and define value-adding data science projects in order to increase the company's competitive advantage. Project work has included: CT X-ray tube failure prediction (machine learning), customer and device clustering, fuzzy matching with device make/model/descriptions, customer survey satisfaction statistical analysis, and finding similar historical work orders with natural language processing (NLP). I use SQL queries within MS SQL Server, Snowflake, and Looker to explore and pull data. I also use the SPL query language within Splunk to explore and retrieve big data (millions of rows) from logs of connected devices such as CT and MRI scanners. The majority of my analysis work is done with Python in Jupyter Notebooks using pandas, numpy, and sci-kit learn. Some development has also been done in R and RShiny. As part of the IT organization, I work in an agile framework using Kanban to track project progress and continuously improve upon skills and processes.

I completed coursework and research in the Operations Research (OR) concentration of Purdue's Industrial Engineering graduate program. The primary focus of both my coursework and research with my advisor included simulation optimization, deterministic optimization, real analysis, and probability theory. I coded, tested, and executed simulation optimization algorithms in Matlab and Python on both local computers as well as through parallel computing jobs on Purdue's high performance computing (HPC) clusters. I created academic journal-ready documents with LaTeX. I presented research at conferences including: the Winter Simulation Conference (WSC), the INFORMS Annual Meeting, and the International Conference on Design of Experiments. I was also a Teaching Assistant for IE230, an undergraduate probability theory class with more than 150 students. In this role, I held office hours, created online homework problems in LON-CAPA (using XML, Perl, and LaTeX), proctored and graded exams, and collected ABET certification data for the department.

I Imported, cleansed, analyzed, and presented data from multiple sources using Excel, R, and Tableau and performed monthly and ad-hoc data analysis projects related to customer attrition. I met with SMEs to understand customer behaviors that lead to attrition and what data could be used to track those behaviors.

I was an Adjunct Instructor for MATH 220 - "Introduction to Statistics", which involved teaching evening classes of 26-28 students of varying educational backgrounds. The position involved lecture preparation and delivery, implementing online homework from the textbook publisher platform, and creating/grading exams.

I used SAS to build marketing, inquiry, application, admission, enrollment, and retention logistic regression models for higher education institutions. I coded SAS programs/macros to improve efficiency in repetitive analyses (data profiling, CHAID segmentation, model variable selection) and used Tableau to build dashboards and reports for clients.

Installed and helped troubleshoot statistical and mathematical software for students, faculty, and staff. Led workshops/training on how to use SPSS and SAS software. Assisted graduate students with performing statistical analyses and inference of results. Created SPSS and SAS programs to perform analysis of annual campus technology users survey.

Assisted students, faculty, staff, and community clients in student statistical consultant role. Graded SAS programming assignments for 40+ students per semester. Held office hours for student questions about SAS programming.

Used SAS to explore data related to underwriting and fraudulent agent claims.

Completed a rotational development program in inventory management. Team member on large project to convert from legacy in-house system to SAP system, including a trip to SAP Headquarters in Germany to work alongside code developers.
