Plans and implements activities that promote the social, physical, and intellectual growth of children. Responsible for the care, hygiene, learning, developmental activities, specialized programs, and redirection of children. Communicates directly with parents. Maintains classroom records, cleanliness, and orderliness.

Assists the Teacher in working with young children and families to develop their cognitive, social, emotional, and physical growth. Assists the Teacher in the implementation of the daily curriculum and activities. Ensures classroom plans and activities are carried out in the absence of the Teacher. Maintaining classroom records, progress reports, permission slips, accident reports and other necessary documentation. Encourages parent involvement in the Head Start program, both in the classroom and in the home. Attends pre-service and in-service training programs.

Develop curriculum and prepare, implement, and supervise age-appropriate activities Supervise children: Monitor, direct, protect, encourage, and nurture children. Maintain a safe, fun, healthy environment for children. Maintain communication with parents: A childcare head teacher must communicate daily with parents verbally and through daily reports and progress reports. He or she must create and manage client records accurately and efficiently. Attend staff meetings, required training, and continuing education.

Maintains control of and accounts for whereabouts and safety of children and youth age 8weeks to 12years. I assist in providing and leading planned activities for program participants. Helps establish a program environment that promotes positive child and youth interactions with other children, youth and adults. Helps prepare, arrange, and maintain indoor and outdoor activity areas and materials to accommodate daily schedule. Uses prepared curriculum/program materials and assists with developing a list of needed supplies and equipment.

Six years of working experience at The Chicago Park District. I assist in planning, developing, and scheduling, conducting tournaments curriculum activities. Supervises recreation activities and functions as an official where necessary. Spots for tumbling and gymnastics, performs demonstrations, and leads small groups in drills and agility exercises. Supervises unorganized play and athletic activity at Chicago Park District facilities, encourages, and enforces standards. Issues, collects, and maintains recreational equipment supplied for public use. In addition, I assist the regular staff in conducting simple arts, crafts, music, physical and other recreational activities and, assist in the operation of game rooms and day camp activities.
