Entrusted with processing death certificates, cremation permits, and investigative autopsies adhering to established procedures set forth by Peoria County. Review all documentation with the coroner for his authorization before filing with the Illinois Department of Vital Records database for online search functions. Play a vital role in daily business operations, financial management, and general clerical functions utilizing Microsoft Word and Excel, online platforms, and routine office equipment. Facilitate accounts receivables/payables, Freedom of Information Acts, ordering office supplies, and maintaining departmental logs, correspondences, and reports.Appointed by the coroner to supervise interns, onboard and train newly hired employees and provide detailed progress reports implementing corrective actions if necessary.
