The Composition program had fifteen full time faculty and roughly fifteen adjunct faculty. Responsibilities and Duties:• supporting the strategic goals of the college and liberal studies requirements• articulating the goals of the program, both within and without the program, articulating the program's requests reflecting these aims, and encouraging and modeling faculty engagement, participation, collegiality, and innovation• informing the program of the perspectives and actions of the dean and other administrators that might affect the department
• leading curriculum development• ensuring appropriate procedures for governance within the program • guiding the program's Strategic Planning process• communicating with students in composition courses in order to facilitate open communication regarding the program and curriculum• promoting the selection and retention of outstanding and diverse faculty• recommending faculty appointments, re-appointments, and promotions • evaluating the job performance of faculty and making recommendations for department faculty• implementing College policy and rules within the program• scheduling teaching schedules in consultation with the faculty, appropriate deans, and Academic Affairs and assigning faculty to meet the needs of the curriculum
