During my first year at i3D, I have been mostly focused on architecting, designing and building the on-premise internal development platform built on Kubernetes.I was intially tasked with making improvements to the legacy Kubernetes platform and used my knowledge and how the solution was being utilized to help build a platform that would serve the developers and help streamline the deployment process.I am also the main maintainer and designer for a self-service, centralized, and multi-tenant observibility platform based on Prometheus Operator, Thanos, Grafana Operator and Grafana Loki which is capable of handling data from the entire internal development platform and will be used as the company's global observibility platform for all containterized and non-containerized workloads such as networking equipment, bare metal servers, and virtualized platform.I have also mentored junior team members to learn about DevOps and Platform Engineering, embrace the mindset of collaborative workflow and GitOps.I have helped with design and implementation of ArgoCD and helped developers learn and build proper pipelines and adpot the GitOps mindset.The technologies that I have worked with in addition to the observibility stack are Sidero Talos, Sidero Omni, Ceph, VAST storage, Hashicorp Vault, External-DNS and cert-manager, KEDA autoscaler, Vertical Pod Autoscaler, and Kyverno Policy Management Engine.

I helped build and deliver a cloud landing zone on Azure and deployment of an app based on Azure Container Apps (ACA) for the client's blog. The infrastructure was deployed with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform) and Github Actions for the CI/CD pipeline of the infrastructure and the blog's deployment.Another assignment I had was designing and restructuring an environment on AWS with the application on Elastic Beanstalk, adding IaC with Terraform and Terragrunt, and creating CI/CD pipelines for the application on GitHub Actions.The company was eventually made defunct and merged with another business and I moved on to my next challenge.

I was part of the development team at Logiqs, working directly with developers to improve the process of continuous integration and deployment of the software and also administration of their infrastructure on Azure. During that time, I restructured their entire existing environment on Azure, consisting of around 100 virtual machines and a number of database instances, and migrated workloads to the new environment without any perceived downtime using a bash script and Azure CLI, due to persistence of their storage. This helped reduce costs of the development and test environments, improved observability and management. Before and during the migration phase, a lot of coordination was done between both development and system administration to ensure all parties are on the same page in terms of the new layout and administration. The integrity of migrated data was thoroughly tested and initial best practices for security were applied. Additionally, I also automated a number of administration tasks on the environment using bash scripts for repeating tasks which would make scaling and managing the environment simpler. A number of these scripts were also used for Microsoft SQL Server deployment and maintenance tasks.I worked with the used CI/CD Solution and made some planning for migrating it to Azure DevOps. Unfortunately, due to the high energy prizes, the project was drastically downsized in volume and development and this meant the end for this assignment.

I was responsible for a set of different infrastructure related tasks at FANAP. Being a company with a diverse portfolio, their products include different B2B and B2C products, mainly used by major banks including Pasargad, and many others, serving as the backbone of their banking solutions. This high transaction rate required a highly available, resilient production environment. Other products included different IoT solutions for developing smart cities, ERP software for the largest steel production company in Middle East etc. As a DevOps Engineer, working with FANAP provided the opportunity for me to understand the sensitivity of environments at a large scale, working on different challenging projects and have the chance to make contributions such as: - Designing the layout and implementing Ansible Tower in one of the environments, converting all of the default manual configurations to Ansible Playbooks maintained in a Git repository which was successful and was further refined for solving infrastructure provisioning issues which consumed a lot of time.- Automating a wide array of repeating tasks using Python, Ansible, some of which have significantly helped reduce maintenance` tasks of support teams, easier migration of legacy systems to newer ones, etc. - Configuring and improving the high availability of applications using tools such as keepalived, HAProxy, and Pacemaker - Creating CI/CD pipelines and administration of containerized applications on environments based on either Docker Swarm or Kubernetes using Jenkins and Ansible Playbooks - Setting up proper logging for applications using Elastic Stack (ELK) - Setting up monitoring and observability solutions for both dynamic environments running on Kubernetes using Prometheus, and static environments using Zabbix, and finding bottlenecks in different parts of the application - Developing custom Prometheus exporters for internal tools in Python using Prometheus Client
