Used zebrafish as a model to study whether shank3 mutations have an effect on gut motility as it relates to people with Autism who often have unpleasant GI symptoms.

Worked with medical staff in hospitals and clinics to gain clinical experience as well as learn about the Peruvian healthcare system. This was accompanied with an intensive medical skills course and Spanish course where I learned to take patient histories, vital signs and practice Spanish dialogue.
