In 2016, our team launched EdAllies as a locally-driven, independent nonprofit. I manage our policy and communications staff to achieve results that drive equity for Minnesota students, and am responsible for a variety of other internal and external functions. I work closely with our executive director to ensure organizational health, advance outreach and engagement programs, and engage directly in advocating for policy change.

Served as interim executive director during organizational transition, ensuring continuity around policy goals and maintaining strong relationships with funders and stakeholders.

At MinnCAN, a non-profit dedicated to strengthening education policy in Minnesota, my role was to enhance the organization and infrastructure to foster the our continued success and growth. I developed strategy to meet organizational goals and advanced our mission with both internal- and external-facing responsibilities, ranging from human capital development to project management.

JOTF is a Maryland-based non-profit that does research, advocacy, and program development focused on the needs of low-wage workers. I helped advance research-based policy reform to remove barriers and increase access to opportunity. I worked on a broad spectrum of issues including post-secondary access and success, unemployment insurance, transportation, youth employment, and economic mobility. I also supported JOTF's advocacy and public education agenda through coalition-building, outreach, and management of special projects such as the Train Baltimore initiative.

I conducted applied research on state and national workforce investment policies, including the collection of state-by-state data on the condition of the working poor, used to develop a framework of community vitality and policy indicators for local research and advocacy organizations participating in the Working Poor Families Project.

I served as teaching assistant to graduate students enrolled in the MPP program's core course in Policy Analysis. I provided support to the instructor and assisted students in developing policy memos and advancing semester-long group research projects.

Through this leadership and public management fellowship, I researched and compiled profiles of six neighborhoods targeted by the Foreclosure Intervention Initiative.

AFS provides foreign exchange experiences, primarily to high school students. At AFS, I provided support to students, volunteers, host families, and natural families, and managed the annual departure and arrival days for Central U.S. Region.

I served as an AmeriCorps*VISTA member, focused on the development of stronger service-learning programs at the University of Minnesota. I developed and coordinated a training and reflection series for students starting service-learning projects, and built partnerships, recruited, and trained community organizations as participants.
