As the CTO and the first member of the engineering team, I worked closely with the CEO, COO and various other members of the management team to establish and maintain a product roadmap. I was responsible for the design, architecture, and implementation of the corresponding technical strategy. My duties included hiring, training and managing an engineering team comprised of multiple software engineers and a product manager. I successfully navigated the company's technical needs through several growth cycles. I worked to establish agile development and quality assurance processes that promoted effective company-wide communication and ensured on-going iterative product development practices, which took the needs of every stakeholder into account.

Olive Interactive, LLC builds web-based services that help businesses and individuals develop, manage, track and monetize their online identity. The company offers two principal services Claim.io and DandyID.org. Claim.io is a paid service that establishes your brand on hundreds of the most popular social media and social networking sites at once. Choose the Business, Corporate, or Enterprise Package and Claim.io will create an account on 100, 150 or 300 social media sites respectfully. The service secures your name and vanity URL. It then embeds your messaging, logo and links into each account.DandyID is a free service for managing, sharing & tracking your online identities. It connects to nearly 400 social sites and offers various plugins and extensions that allow you to port your complete identity across the web. DandyID Pro offers personalized tracking and analytics for $4.99 a month. The pro service collects data about your social media profiles, including brand penetration across multiple accounts.DandyID and Claim.io were both acquired in 2013.

Villij.com was a social recommendation utility that allows consumers to make better-informed purchasing decisions by leveraging the expertise of their social network. I co-founded Villij in 2006. One year later it was accepted into TechStars. The project was shelved for a few years while I worked on other ventures (see below). In 2012 Which Ventures, Inc. announced that it had acquired Villij. As the CTO at Which Ventures, I hired the entire development team, worked with management to rethink the product and eventually rebuilt Villij from the ground up. Business Insider later named Villij one of the most successful startups to come out of TechStars. Which Ventures has since pivoted, launching Homekeepr.com, which focuses exclusively on recommendations within the real estate and homeowner markets.

RevHarvest is a performance-based ad network co-founded by myself and Frankie Brannon. I assisted with the business development and was also responsible for RevHarvest's proprietary ad serving and optimization technology. I architected and developed the technology from scratch to fulfill our specific requirements, which included serving millions of ads across multiple high-traffic publishers. Needless to say, the project offered several unique technical challenges that were rewarding to overcome. Incidentally, building on this experience, Frankie went on to join the Obama campaign's digital display ad team during the 2012 election.

Between 2006 and early 2008 Localcents, Inc created two consumer facing applications: Localcents.com and Villij.com. Loclcents.com is a free online classified and local coupon site. Villij.com (acquired in 2012) set out to be a people & content recommendation engine for the distributed web. In 2007 Villij was accepted into TechStars, a seed-stage mentor-driven investment fund. Localcents, INC. also created a PHP development framework, which is available for license.

TechStars is a mentorship-driven seed stage investment fund for web and software startups. In 2007 I participated in TechStars Boulder as the one of the co-founders of Villij.com.

Bought, fixed up and flipped a 5-bedroom house in Bellingham, WA. Invested in a second property with my good friend Loren Castillo. After renovating the property, Loren bought me out, which in turn allowed me to focus full time on Localcents, INC.

I founded Kalbay Systems while attending Western Washington University in 2003. Kalbay was a consulting firm that specialized in creating custom web-based business process solutions. We had a wide variety of clients, including many in the real estate and manufacturing industries. We assisted Catholic Community Services with an early web-based fundraising campaign. We also did some impressive work for a boutique financial firm. In addition, we built a remarkably successful proprietary data-driven sales solution for a local contracting company. I closed Kalbay after Localcents received funding in 2006.
