Team Owner Mike Moore bought a NASCAR motor for the stripped short track Jeep pickup. After belittling the competition in the first heat, we tore the rear end out and restacked the rear leaf springs on a 1 hour break between heats. All the Indy guys, including some of Rick's Penske team and the Machinists Union (Roger's car) were impressed because at the end of a ten lap heat everyone returned to celebrate and the pit was sparkling clean. We made team manager Bill Hepburn who once ran the entire maintenance deck on a super carrier very happy.
