Assembled over 7000 instruments ($600-10,000 retail) and supervised assembly of over 18,000 instruments including two manufacturing increases(+10-20%) to support recession recovery and line mods (almost no overtime). Assist Production manager with scheduling and task/time estimates. Lead quality control for assembly and geometry functions during metamorphosis to CNC. Helped build and install fixtures in Santee factory. Assist repair supervisor with scheduling and estimates. Conduct seminars for visiting technicians and attend marketing functions as technical consultant. Prepare hazmat training and incident reports. First to use CA glue finish repair and inlay techniques (now standards). Comprehensive knowledge of guitar manufacturing and repair.

I worked for my brother to build a custom home and did everything from clearing brush to polishing doorknobs. Surveying, concrete forms, concrete finishing for floor and driveway, form walls, framing, plumb and line, installing and blocking truss-joist systems, roofing, hanging windows and doors, finish carpentry, exterior trim and paint prep, painting. I lived onsite in my van and learned fly-fishing.

Changing tires and operating jacks during pit stops, ferrying pre-run and support vehicles, race car testing, general pit duties (cleaning, support, gopher) A proud moment: At Pheonix, after seeing Rick Mears set a closed course record in an indy car we fielded the first trophy truck on an off-road track in the tri-oval's infield. Team Owner Mike Moore bought a NASCAR motor for the stripped short track Jeep pickup. After belittling the competition in the first heat, we tore the rear end out and restacked the rear leaf springs on a 1 hour break between heats. All the Indy guys, including some of Rick's Penske team and the Machinists Union (Roger's car) were impressed because at the end of a ten lap heat everyone returned to celebrate and the pit was sparkling clean. We made team manager Bill Hepburn who once ran the entire maintenance deck on a super carrier very happy.
