Maker In Residence
Current- Serve as a creative and technical leader in the maker space, driving innovation and hands-on project development.- Lead the conceptualization, design, and fabrication of various projects using advanced tools and technologies (e.g., 3D printing, laser cutting, CNC machining, etc.).- Host workshops and training sessions, teaching members how to use equipment and develop practical skills.- Provide guidance and mentorship to makers, students, and community members, helping them refine their ideas and execute projects.- Collaborate with local artists, designers, engineers, and entrepreneurs to bring their creative ideas to life.- Help members design and prototype products, emphasizing rapid iteration and user-centered design.- Explore new materials, tools, and technologies to expand the capabilities of the maker space.- Use design thinking methodologies to tackle complex challenges and develop innovative solutions.- Take on unique or large-scale projects to demonstrate cutting-edge maker technologies and techniques.- Oversee the maintenance, safety, and operation of the maker space’s tools and machinery.- Engage with the local maker community, educational institutions, and corporate partners to promote the space and its offerings.- Build partnerships with local businesses and organizations to bring in resources and collaborate on community-driven projects.
