Scott Davis is a seasoned strategic asset management and portfolio optimization professional with over 25 years of diverse experience in the competitive and regulated sectors of the electric utility industry. As the director of FEP’s retail team, Mr. Davis developed sophisticated market models and proprietary customer and financial analytics tools in support of competitive retail electric providers. His experience includes generation asset development, acquisition and financing support, and portfolio optimization with an emphasis on value creation and recapture using advanced methods in modeling, simulation, and data analytics. Mr. Davis’ portfolio expertise includes base-load, peaking, combined cycle, and cogeneration facilities, using natural gas, coal, and various waste fuels. Mr. Davis developed his early expertise in demand side management, load management, and integrated resource planning at Florida Power Corporation where his early contributions included developing an expert system to automate load management dispatch algorithms. Prior to joining FEP, Mr. Davis led a number of strategic groups at Dynegy in roles that include Business Manager of the coal fleet, head of Strategic Market Analysis and Planning, and Head of Credit. He has also provided market analysis and pro forma support for multiple transactions, including 5,300 megawatts of new power plant development totaling $1.96 billion; 2,600 megawatts of asset acquisitions totaling $1.3 billion; 2,900 megawatts of asset sales/divestitures totaling $1.1 billion; and $360 million of non-recourse financings. Mr. Davis holds a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Florida, and an MBA from the Bauer College of Business at the University of Houston.
