I am a student working with Dr. Jim Magnuson; my research focuses on language acquisition in college-aged students. I use standardized measures of reading and memory ability (TOWRE, Nelson-Denny, Reading Span, etc.,) to assess individuals' personal strengths and abilities, and whether one's personal skills influence how easily he or she learns new lexical items.My methodologies of interest include artificial lexicons, eye tracking, EEG, fMRI, and standard behavioral measures.

DIscussion leader for Psychology 1103 (Enhanced). Responsible for creating discussion sections and for grading essays and homework for approximately 40 students. Topics covered include developmental psychology, social psychology, clinical and abnormal psychology.

Developed lesson plans, weekly lectures, homework, quizzes, and exams for a 28-person summer course. Topics covered included research methodologies, biopsychology and neuroanatomy, sensation, perception, learning, memory, and language (psycholinguistics).

At the Affective Neuroscience lab under Dr. David Zald, I assisted with research involving continuous flash suppression and fear-related stimulus detection (both words and faces). I created stimuli using Photoshop, ran experimental sessions, and performed basic data analysis using MATLAB and Excel.
