• I am currently employed at this facility as a registered nurse in a six-bed unit with two nurses per shift. • This position has allowed me to work more autonomously and has strengthened my leadership skills because there is not a charge nurse on shift.• I have enjoyed this position because I have been able to get to know the physicians at the facility quite well and thoroughly enjoy the educational information they have to offer.• This position allows me to spend more quality time with my patients, and I have received notes from patients and my supervisor regarding my excellent care and attention.

My most recent clinical experience was alongside Renee Ward, NP at a rural health family practice clinic. I gained experience with episodic complaints and chronic care for ages 10-99. I also gained experience with injections and small procedures.

• I chose to take a travel position with Travel Nurses Across America to gain more experience in cardiac care at Cape Fear Hospital in Fayetteville, NC on the cardiac step-down unit. • This position allowed me to expand my knowledge and experience in an area that I did not get as much experience with as a trauma surgical nurse. It was nice to step out of my comfort zone and still be able to succeed.• I was offered to extend my contract at the end of the term, but I chose to take a full-time position instead to be closer to home.

• This position was the heart and soul of my nursing background and was responsible for allowing me to become the prudent and compassionate nurse that I am today. • My confidence level soared as a nurse after I was chosen to take a position as charge nurse and as the rapid response nurse for the hospital. • The flexibility of the position was remarkable because I was able to float back and forth between working on the unit, charge for step-down, charge for the unit, rapid response nurse, preceptor, continuous renal replacement therapy, and organ procurement. • Demonstrated expertise in supporting patients with acute complaints, chronic conditions, surgical procedures and emergencies. As rapid response nurse, I was able to run codes for the hospital and assist the floor nurses with managing emergency situations. • Assisted physicians with bedside procedures such as placement of tracheostomies, PEG tubes, ventriculostomies, and chest tubes. Also assisted with several bedside endoscopy and thoracentesis procedures. • Successful at being efficient in fast-paced situations. • Successfully documented and carried out care plans according to evidence-based practice research and facility protocols. I was always known for my experience with knowing protocols by heart, and I was recognized for my expertise in thorough documentation.• Collaborated well with others to formulate cost-efficient treatment plans and provide high-quality nursing care.
