I returned to the Facilities department of ASC on the AWD Shipbuilding site to provide electrical engineering and project management expertise to support infrastructure works requirements for the launch of the first Air Warfare Destroyer.

I worked in the Electrical Engineering branch of the Public Transport Services Engineering and Maintenance division. I was responsible for the operation, upgrade and maintenance of the Adelaide tram network traction power system including the substations as well as the contact wire and all overhead and underground infrastructure. I was involved in the development of the processes, procedures and safe work methods required for the maintenance and operations of a 25kV electrified rail network. I also had direct responsibility for the specification and procurement of maintenance tools, equipment and plant as well as the recruitment and training of the traction power workers who will carry out the ongoing maintenance of the traction power system.

Operations, maintenance and upgrade of the ASC submarine and shipbuilding facilities (workshops, plant, equipment, offices etc)

I worked with a team of enthusiastic volunteers to prepare a small three-wheeled electric vehicle for an epic 80 day, 30,000km drive around the world for the 2010 zero-race (www.zero-race.com).My role in the team was primarily in the design & programming of the driver dashboard instrumentation.
