The Executive Director of CSPC, Lorena Garcia, lead the Removing Barriers Coalition for Colorado SB21-199. It was historically passed in its first legislative session and opens opportunities for our undocumented neighbors to apply for occupational and professional licensure, as well as Colorado’s public programs. I had the honor to be a part of these efforts by maintaining Coalition communication, identifying possible stakeholders, contacting municipal leaders for support, connecting with legislators and state lobbyists, and targeting specific industries for support. I continue my work with the Coalition by attending meetings, presenting to public agencies about implementation, and identifying areas that need more advocacy.
