Through the course of a month, I communicated with many community centers to plan outings that would enrich the service user's experience at the camp. I exhibited leadership skills in my second summer by planning parts of the camp as well as being responsible for daily fitness activities for the service users. This responsibility allowed me to improvise well and to trust my instincts. For example, it is important to anticipate that not every service use will cooperate or be interested in the activity, and it is important to plan ahead to adjust the activity as needed. Show less
