My work with Beaver's Pond Press allows me to edit a variety of projects, including memoirs, novels, and general nonfiction. I follow the managing editor's instructions regarding what a manuscript needs, such as thorough fact-checking, adjusting citations to align with the Chicago Manual of Style, editing the text for clarity while maintaining the author's voice, and performing a basic grammar check.

I work with Ave Maria Press on a freelance basis to copy edit and proofread books on Catholic spirituality. This coincides well with my ongoing master's degree studies in Christian Spirituality. I perform edits according to the house style guide and the Chicago Manual of Style, using Track Changes when copy editing in Microsoft Word and the Adobe markup tools when proofreading PDFs. I also perform basic fact-checking when necessary.

I have a long-standing professional relationship with Redleaf Press as a freelance editor and proofreader of their nonfiction books for early childhood educators. I perform edits according to the Redleaf house style guide and the Chicago Manual of Style, using Track Changes in Microsoft Word and traditional proofreading marks for physical copies of manuscripts. I work with the content marketing team at Collegis Education to deliver high-quality blog posts about higher education. As an editor, I ensure that posts are optimized for SEO, are well organized and written according to AP style, and are free of grammar errors. As a writer, I work with expert sources and conduct personal research to ensure that every post offers valuable insights and information to target readers. In both roles, my focus is on delivering relevant knowledge to readers in a conversational tone while helping Collegis achieve their content strategy goals.

I collaborate with my cohost to arrange guest interviews, create episode outlines, record guest interviews, edit audio files, write show notes, and promote the show via social media.

I provide feature Real Weddings articles for this biannual bridal magazine as well as its sister magazine, Southern MN Brides. I also write a regular bridal advice column titled Dear Ashley.

I assisted the Redleaf Press production team with fact-checking and proofreading during a busy season.

As an editor of the University of Northwestern--St. Paul's literary magazine, Inkstone, I worked on an editorial team of fellow students to manage all aspects of the publishing process. Together, we developed an editorial calendar, promoted calls for submission, selected pieces to be published, proofread for grammatical and typographical errors, worked with a graphic designer to make design decisions, and handled all aspects of printing and distribution.

As an editorial production intern, I learned valuable information about the overall publishing process. I also completed fact-checks, submitted books for copyright, submitted books for CIP data, checked alterations in manuscripts, and performed other administrative duties as needed.

As an External Operator, I performed various administrative duties such as data entry and archive maintenance, created and confirmed work orders on a daily basis, tested Trifecta heart valves for leakage, packaged Trifecta heart valves, and assisted engineers in updating and creating new technical procedures.

I worked with students who had not passed the school's editing competency exam to improve their understanding of English grammar, both punctuation and usage. I guided students through editing research papers, including proofreading, editing for flow and organization, and ensuring that all citations and punctuation were in accordance with their chosen style guide. I also proctored testing, answered phones, and performed other administrative duties.
