Ashley Hicks is currently the Manager of Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, & Engagement for the US Region and Corporate Marketing Organizations at Becton Dickinson (BD).In her role, she drives D&I transformation by designing inclusive talent processes, enablement, programming, and implementation of BD’s IDE&E strategy as a strategic partner to Senior leaders across the enterprise.Previously Ashley worked on multiple ID&E stretch assignments from 2020- 2021, which led to the creation of the ID&E Talent Acquisition Team – where she worked in a role she helped to create to further develop, drive, and execute Talent Acquisition ID&E strategies. She also established and further built out diverse and inclusive partnerships externally while also establishing internal Regional ID&E Engagement Teams. During her time there, she helped re-imagine the organization’s hiring processes of diverse associates, established HBCU partnerships, led Associate resource group strategy, created the blueprint on executing onsite career offers at diversity career fairs, and moderated a national discussion of belonging for 1800 North American Associates. Ashley believes in the power of storytelling and data to drive change, as she continues to use her authentic experience and platform to amplify the voices of the underrepresented population. Ashley began her D&I career as the founding co-leader of BD’s African American Associate Resource Group (AABD) for field-based associates in North America, as well as a member of the Inclusion Council for the Surgery Business. Having more than 10 years of sales experience, prior to this role, she worked as a Sales Consultant and Territory Manager in the Medical Device and Medical Technology industry, promoting products and services that would enable her customers to provide paramount healthcare solutions to their patients. This enabled Ashley to build skills in influencing, communications and promotion, all of which has helped her in her new role.
