- Solution Architect, and Area Product Owner for Interoperability, for the Integrated Autonomous Mining Platform (iMAP) program. Responsible for the overall architecture of the system, defining the methods and solutions for an open, interoperable autonomy platform, where multiple vendors would plug a subsystem into the overall system. Additionally, managed the Interoperability and Testing team and was responsible for ensuring that all solutions meet the overall architectural goals of BHP.- Defined the system architecture to integrate using a series of interface gateways which would be responsible for connecting subsystems using a prescribed set of messages. These gateways also handled security and auditing, provided observability into the operation of the system and enabled a method of automatically testing subsystems within continuous integration and delivery pipelines.- The program took a Model-Based System Engineering (MBSE) approach which required all solution definitions to be collaboratively modelled (using Cameo Systems Modeler) with multiple vendors across global time zones. All subsystem integrations were modelled in terms of activities each subsystem was responsible for, and the messages that each subsystem would be required to publish and subscribe to.- From this defined model, implemented a message generation process to enable both Robot Operating System (ROS) based, and DDS based, subsystems to integrate utilizing the generated messages.
