I’m currently a G4 at Harvard Medical School pursuing a Ph.D. in Immunology with a focus on host-pathogen interactions. For the past two years, I have been studying the murine immune response to Chlamydia trachomatis in the Starnbach lab. My current project focuses on the differences between Chlamydia serovars and the role of T cells in pathology. Before joining the Harvard Immunology program, I did my undergraduate studies at the University of Notre Dame. I graduated Cum Laude with a major in Biological Sciences and a minor in Science, Technology, and Values. Throughout my time as a student at ND, I gained experience in Immunology and Microbiology research, both inside and outside of the university. I had the opportunity to collaborate on research projects at the University of Pittsburgh, Mayo Clinic (see publications), and Notre Dame. Primarily, I did research with Dr. Nydia Morales-Soto in the Shrout Lab, where I worked on the characterization of natural products that work against antibiotic-resistant bacteria, and the characterization of the relationship between CFRD and P. aeruginosa. I was also involved in Student Government as a Senate Representative for Pangborn Hall and Hall Staff as a Resident Assistant in Johnson Family Hall. In addition, I was a member of the university's marching band and had the opportunity to travel and represent the school as a member of the trumpet section.
