Managed archival collection of James D. Watson's (co-discoverer of the double helix, along with Francis Crick) personal and administrative records. I developed a time line of his daily activities for his time at Cold Spring Harbor (to be developed into an online calendar at a later date), and added meta data tags to the online photograph collection.

Working as an independent contractor, developed and implemented procedures for Records Management operations related to a new Records Management Policy at firm. Procedures addressed records in paper and electronic media, including: processing departing personnel, transfer of records, retention review and final disposition, and response to legal holds and destruction orders. Responsible for all aspects of project management related to procedures, including coordinating of team members and developing related documentation and reports. Conducted firmwide training for all Records Personnel, and verified compliance with implemented procedures. Assisted in development of Records Management Policy training for all firm personnel. Daily work included use of firm’s electronic document management system to manage electronic records and email; experience using LegalKEY to index paper records; and other firm systems such as Hummingbird BI Query for data analysis of records indexed in LegalKEY.

Graduate Teaching Assistant in History Department. Courses taught: North American Indian History to 1887,;North American Indian History, 1887-present; Ethnic Studies 101: The Making of Racial, Ethnic and National Identities; Ethnic Studies 102: Transnational Migration and National Identity: Asian, European and Middle Eastern Immigrants, 1875-present; and The History of the Vietnam War. Responsible for preparing for and leading small group discussion sections, designed to augment the larger lecture section given by the professor, as well as grading and evaluating undergraduate students.

Appraised and accessioned incoming records from offices throughout the museum. Assisted both internal and external patrons through reference interviews and research assistance; arranged and described an extensive video collection (2800 tapes) and updated the associated finding aid in Microsoft Excel; arranged and described several accretions to records already in the Institutional Archives and updated Microsoft Access database; bar-coded boxes in preparation for shipment of temporary records to storage vendor; inventoried on-site records (the high use records that have been accessioned into the institutional archives) for the purpose of an internal audit; attended and observed weekly department meetings and monthly division meetings.

Supervised and assisted patrons in the reading room, which including conducting reference interviews, locating and retrieving relevant collections and explaining and enforcing rules and procedures for handling archival materials. Responded to reference requests on the telephone and via email. Arranged and described two record groups, the “Committee Files” in the Midwest Archives Conference collection (3.6 C.F.), and “The Status of Women in the Archival Profession” committee files for the Society of American Archivists collection (1.6 C.F.). Assisted in the records transfer and the donation process for the Woman’s Club of Wisconsin collection. Designed and created an exhibit for the alumni association’s 50 year class reunion for the class of 1954. Assisted with the WTMJ film collection by viewing and inventorying 20 reels of 35mm film.
