About Nicole Johnson
For over a decade, I've worked as a social worker; and the last 6 years as an attorney. I've had the privilege of managing housing programs for families experiencing homelessness; helping children and their families process trauma, abuse, and grief; teaching parents how to support their amazing children's emotional needs; and just helping folx navigate the messy parts of life. I can talk to anyone about anything. I'm adept at explaining laws and policies to the people they impact most; and at explaining impact to those who create the laws and policies. Throughout my childhood and early adult life, I experienced several stints of homelessness. Simply put, we were poor. My desire to provide legal services to folx are typically denied access stems from my experiences of living below and above the poverty line. I view every aspect of life through that lens. This makes me an excellent problem solver who thinks critically and is able to see the big picture. A childhood and early adult life spent in survival mode did wonders for my strategic thinking and analytical skills. These skills have become assets in my professional career.I’m no stranger to hard work and sacrifice. Throughout undergrad, grad school, and law school, I worked full-time. This is where I learned how to multi-task, effectively manage time, and to easily adjust to constantly changing circumstances. My pivot skills are next level. I'm also an advocate for balance and boundaries, especially when working with a team.My personal passions are caring for senior citizens and supporting families as they break the cycle of poverty.
Listed skills include Crisis Intervention, Life Skills, Caregivers, Community Outreach, and 42 others.
