The aerospace sector is advancing at an unprecedented rate, with aerospace engineers at the forefront. The industry requires innovators to research, design, and develop the next generation of aircraft, space stations, and spacecraft. As a recent graduate with a Bachelor of Science in Aerospace Engineering, my goal is to put my education to practical use in the field so that I may be instrumental in defining its future. As an undergraduate, I completed two high-profile research projects. As Stability & Control Lead of the Test Team for the Glider Project, I was part of the group that created a simple and intuitive aircraft control systems that were modeled on those found in automobiles. I applied aerodynamic theory to estimate the aircraft’s performance and created a complex wing shape modeled after NASA’s Prandtl-D. As Team Lead on the LEGO Robot Project, I programmed a robot to use onboard sensors to navigate a course while it simultaneously collected objects. Further, as a testament to my work ethic and focus, I maintained a full-time retail job while I completed my degree.
