Growing up a 90s kid in north central PA I chased the institutional dream of going to college and getting a really expensive piece of paper. I was handed my slice of tree in mid 2010s, turned out to be my B.S. in Chemical Engineering with minors in Petroleum Engineering, Chemistry and Mathematics. After graduation I joined Big Blue and became an offshore engineer … I was the guy that got to blow splick up 😁I was excited and ready to make my job a career, however, OPEC had other plans. Once oil dropped to a staggering $23 a barrel, mass layoffs affected everyone in the industry, myself included. I made the difficult decision at 22 to leave a dream role and move to a new industry; completely outside my education or expertise. Joining Amazon was the best decision I could have made - the years since have helped shape and mold the leader I am today. From learning the importance of servant leadership as an area manager, to launching my first building as a site leader and influencing the work place ecosystem and culture for more than 500 people; all the way to present day where my direct team delivers both technical and non-technical products that impact more than 160k delivery professionals in last mile operations. While I couldn’t be happier with where I am, that doesn’t mean we’ll stop climbing. I’m always open to discuss new opportunities or initiatives, even if these fall outside of my current ecosystem.Stay Healthy and Safe,Austin
