About Austin Shupe
Studied physics and mechanical engineering for five years at two universities, obtaining respective degrees from both. I transitioned from working as a lifeguard into automotive sales, application engineering, engineering in pharmaceuticals, and presently design engineering in immersive entertainment. Through each of these opportunities I've obtained skills that have rounded me out to be an adaptive and motivated member of any team. This includes skills in industrial automation and interdisciplinary CAD work.Outside of the office, I spend a large portion of my free time completing side projects for daily activities. Examples include using Arduino to automate conventional manual tasks and using modeling software with a 3D printer to solve everyday frustrations.Aspirations of mine are set in the automotive or energy industry. Working with customers and being sociable among clients has given me the ability to see alternate perspectives on products that benefit the consumer and integrate this feedback directly into the work I do. I will help bring a customer-centric perspective directly into the heart of the design while maintaining an efficient design process with the team.
