During her work she managed to find rare inscribed and signed books by Presidents Carter and Hoover and former FBI Director J. Edgar Hoover. Finding these books inspired a new exhibit in the DACOR display case gathering all of the presidential signatures in our collection - most never before displayed publicly. Additionally, she co-authored a compelling and informative article about their joint work and discoveries which will be published in the September issue of the DACOR bulletin. Doubtless her words will encourage many members to join the effort as volunteers and will inspire those who are authors to donate their books to the library and sponsor their shelf space. Personally, Autumn has a quiet and stately sense of decorum that will augment her considerable expertise in the Asian cultural sphere - Japanese in particular. I was particularly impressed with her confidence in attending a very heady Library of Congress book talk by an acquaintance of mine where she was able to make cogent comments and convey the connection thus accomplishing important development stewardship while she was there. She is detailed oriented, pleasant, highly intelligent and strikes me as very intuitive as well - all excellent qualities in a diplomat. I have no doubt she will go far in her career, and I commend her without hesitation."
