I worked on a large project for the Health Resources and Services Administration in which we updated a paper and mainframe based system with a web application now serving tens of thousands of healthcare professionals and administrators. I worked in several facets of the process including production support, testing, and development, and used a variety of technologies including Java, Microsoft SQL Server, Hibernate, Seam framework, and Teamworks.My production support responsibilities included data migration and fixing client issues. My testing responsibilities included performing regression and load testing on significant portions of the functionality for each release, creating and maintaining automated testing scripts, and training several new testing team members. In my development role I refactored and implemented both public and internal facing functionality using agile development methods. I also participated in interviewing, recruiting and volunteer opportunities.

Additionally, I managed a body of 5-7 student employees with duties including scheduling, hiring/firing, and general management. I also contributed to evolving and implementing the lab policies. Each semester I taught several technical workshops on LaTeX primarily to graduate students, staff and faculty of the university. Finally, I was also in charge of maintaining the lab web site.
