WALTER is the leading arts and culture magazine in Raleigh, North Carolina. As the editor of WALTER, I oversee the all of the content for the print magazine, website and social media. I manage the editorial team as well as a large stable of contributors. I also serve as the face of the magazine at our events and within the community.

I create editorial, e-commerce, and branded content for media outlets, including Better Homes & Gardens, Real Simple, The Kitchn, The Knot and The New York Times.

As FamilyFun's deputy editor, my main responsibility was to oversee the Create section of the magazine. • Produced craft, party and decorating pages (12-20 per issue). Managed top craft stylists and blogger contributors. Wrote display copy, edited instructions, and reported service elements.• Appeared on behalf of brand on television (TODAY, Cheddar) and Facebook Live.• Produced craft and food videos for social media; instituted best practices and production schedule.• Created content and managed relationships with brand partners (Kiwi Crate, SignUp.com).

We launched ClintonKelly.com as a destination for Clinton’s unique take on fashion, home and entertaining. • Developed editorial calendar; used SEO and syndication partners to grow site to 120,000 uniques within 10 months. • Pitched, produced and built all content (managed freelancers, art-directed shoots, wrote text, CMS).• Developed a social media strategy. During my tenure, Pinterest more than doubled; Instagram grew 800% and the mailing list grew from 700 to 16,000 subscribers.• Created native and social content and social to promote Clinton’s retail partnerships (Macy’s, QVC, PAPYRUS) and advertisers (TIKI, Chambord).

As the lifestyle editor at Good Housekeeping, I was in charge of the home section as well as various cross-departmental columns.• Produced up to 30 home, product testing and shopping pages per issue, including readers’ top three favorite columns: Ask Heloise, The Good List and Peggy Post.• Managed editorial team of four, plus freelance stylists and contributors.• Spearheaded special projects, including $100,000 ad-garnering Blog Cabin campaign with DIY Network.• Worked with fashion, food and Research Institute teams to produce market columns and review pages.• Produced articles for web and enhanced content for digital editions.

As the home editor at Woman's Day, I managed the home section and contributed to other columns and seasonal covers.• Produced up to 12 pages per issue on decorating, organizing, home savings and crafts.• Managed craft and prop stylists, freelance writers and marquee contributors, including Top Design’s Eddie Ross, product designer Annie Selke, and professional organizer Lorie Marrero.• Worked across departments on FOB, entertaining stories and covers (including two of the three best-selling covers in 2011 and 2012); reconceived home department through two redesigns.• Produced native content for brand partners (IKEA, Craftsy)

At Woman's Day Special Interest Publications, I covered the decorating, home improvement, and holiday markets for titles such as Budget Decorating, Remodeling & Makeovers, Ty Pennington at Home and Best Ideas for Christmas. I produced market columns and reported remodeling stories. For Kitchens & Baths magazines, we produced two IKEA kitchen makeovers as native content for the cover and in-book.

As an editorial intern in the Special Issue department, I wrote and reported FOB stories and managed samples for Weddings, Home and Makeovers issues.

I wrote press releases, generated placements, planned and executed events for Design team. Clients included the Winter Antiques Show, JCPenney, and Yabu Pushelberg.
