Active Droplets in Complex Media | SURGE, IIT Kanpur | Mentor: Prof. Rahul Mangal • To study and analyze the motion of Active Droplets in dilute Poly-(Ethylene Oxide)(PEO) solution• Prepared aqueous solutions of PEO and TTAB with active droplets and observed it under optical microscope• Determined active droplet’s trajectory using ImageJ (Mosaic Plugin) and calculated the velocity of the droplet• Computed the flow field around the droplet using Particle-Image Velocimetry (PIV Lab) Data• Calculated the solubilization rate by obtaining a linear relationship between the change in droplets’s size over time• Plotted the variation of tangential velocity against θ and used a sinusoidal equation to obtain a relation• Observed when a droplet acts as a Pusher or Puller on the basis of tangential velocity vs θ curve
