Desktop Support Technician
All Points Contracted to NASA Desktop Support Technician supporting Federal government clients in Houston TX, at the NASA JOHNSON SPACE CENTER. Responsible for desk side IT support to NASA employees and high level executives at the NASA JOHNSON SPACE CENTER. Support includes, but is not limited to, troubleshooting, installations and break/fix work on Windows computer systems as well as Operating System support and some software installation, troubleshooting and support. Working independently and following defined procedures and processes to support clients on an enterprise-wide government network Assisting staff with the installation, configuration, and ongoing usability of desktop / Laptop computers, peripheral equipment and software within established standards and guidelines.Resolve problems received from clients. Interact with numerous computer platforms in a multi-layered client server environment. Provide technical support to our field support personal providing parts and Break-Fix spares to users. Working directly with vendors on Warranty situations on issues with the users actual equipment.Ensuring desktop computers interconnect seamlessly with diverse systems including associated validation systems, file servers, email servers, computer conferencing systems, application servers, and administrative systems.Ensures compliance with IT security, policy and standards providing end user support relative to software and hardware break/fix Performs software installations and upgrades Re-image computers as required ensuring proper data "wipes" are completed when required.Provides support for dial-up and VPN (remote computing), Conducting research on new technology as requested.Maintains records of repairs, changes and updates Meeting all expected service level agreements as required by the contracts in place.
