As a shift supervisor I am responsible for:• Managing, supporting and providing wildlife advice to a team of Emergency Response Operators• Deploying and co-ordinating specialist volunteers (DEECA registered darters) to complex wildlife rescues • Liaising with Wildlife Victoria’s Travelling Vet• Co-ordinating a network of volunteers to wildlife rescues across the state of Victoria, being the point of contact for volunteers in need of support, advice or with case-related enquiries

In my role as Emergency Response Operator:• I educated and informed members of the public on the ecology of Victoria’s native species • I co-ordinated, deployed and manage a state-wide network of volunteers • Co-ordinated wildlife rescues and help triage injured/orphaned native wildlife to vet clinics, wildlife carers and DEECA registered shelters through Victoria• Liaised with stakeholders such as Victoria Police, VicRoads, DEECA, Melbourne Zoo’s Marine Response Unit and other wildlife rescue organisations
