“When opportunity presents itself, don’t be afraid to go after it,” a quote by Eddie Kennison.After college, I started my career in customer service with the plan to transfer to the finance department within the business. As promised, opportunities did come up in the form of supply chain. I accepted the opportunity to help create and serve on the Global Reverse Supply Chain team. This position opened the gate to learn new areas of the business and be creative. I helped develop how we operated, and my frugalness was exercised with each return request. Due to my experience collaborating with multiple business partners and proven skills, I was offered an opportunity to serve a wider community as a supply chain analyst. If the system was not working right, we investigated and figured out how to fix it and put measures in place to prevent it from happening again.Soon enough, another opportunity presented itself in a finance position for a growing small business. In this role, I have learned all aspects of small business accounting and finance, not to mention human resources, employee benefit administration, business insurance, filing and resolving patient insurance claims, member management and opening a new location. Never a shortage of new challenges every day.After experience in varied roles, I have been fortunate to discover how much I enjoy small business.
