· Provide rehab and maintenance physical therapy services to adults with developmental disabilities with a wide variety of orthopedic and neurological disorders in an interdisciplinary outpatient setting. Responsibilities include: · Perform all aspects of client services, from initial evaluation through progression and discharge planning. Manage and maintain a weekly case load and complete necessary documentation for billing and to meet Medicare/Medicaid guidelines. · Conduct in home environmental modification evaluations for clients’ needs to maximize safety and independence in the home. · Evaluate, recommend, order and maintain clients’ customized wheelchairs with specialty seating, walkers, orthoses and other durable medical equipment. · Act as a liaison between direct care staff in residential, day services and clinic settings to ensure that the client’s therapy needs are met. · Hire, train and supervise staff physical therapists and occupational therapists. · Stay apprised of and lead clinical staff’s ongoing education of current Medicare and Medicaid rules, changes, and documentation requirements. · Clinical instructor for Nazareth College student physical therapists in their first and second affiliations (2004-present). · Served on Sub-committee for Back Injury Analysis and made recommendations to reduce injury (2008).
