SAFY is a leading national nonprofit organization providing family preservation, mental health services, and therapeutic foster care for youth and families. SAFY provides nationally recognized family and child services in 30 offices across nine states.As an integral member of the executive management team, Barb was responsible for strategic human resource planning and execution, and led all human resource functional areas, aligning with business objectives. Advancing to the C-suite after 9 years with the organization, she managed and facilitated transformational change enterprise wide. Creating vision, buy-in, and alignment of culture was key to managing change and resolving conflicts.

Barb collaborated with managers on workforce planning/development needs for the organization (including onboarding and on-going training) and created appropriate training strategies. She coordinated the development of curriculum and materials according to identified training needs and agency requirements, and monitored guidelines established for training by accrediting and licensing agencies. She led the development and implementation of the agency leadership program. Barb also conducted initial investigation of disciplinary issues, grievances, equal employment opportunity, workers compensation and unemployment claims/complaints, and reported findings to Chief of Human Resources

Barb strategized with management to develop new positions, position requirements, recruitment and retention strategies, diversity initiatives, ongoing sourcing, and alternative staffing solutions. She extended all offers of employment, completed turnover and other reporting, and supervised recruiters

In this roll, Barb was responsible for the full-cycle recruitment process for all positions, including employees, interns, volunteers, and contract employees. She was skilled in social media, internet, college, and classroom recruiting. She developed and leveraged her relationships with contacts to use for sources of hires. Barb attended job fairs and created Interview Day events, as well as presented at classroom visits and community events/organizations, colleges, and children/family events
