I participated in 25 yrs of interesting research on the remediation of dyslexia, much of it as PI or co-PI on grants from NIH, NICHD, or IES in two different Research Centers in Colorado. I wrote and administered grants, collaborating with wonderful colleagues, wrote papers, and presented at conferences in the US and abroad. I speak 5 languages (some less well now than others), which informs my research and teaching (as dyslexia is a language-based learning disability). During many of my research years, I also conducted a part time small business teaching teachers, and children with dyslexia and their parents, in what I had learned from ours and others research. (I also had 15 years public and private school teaching prior to my research. I still enjoy continuing the work with parents and teachers, even with the occasional conference presentation, since retiring from conducting research some 10 years ago.
