Braver Angels (www.braverangels.org) is a national citizens'​ movement to reduce political polarization in the United States by bringing liberals and conservatives together to understand each other beyond stereotypes, forming red/blue community alliances, teaching practical skills for communicating across political differences, and making a strong public argument for depolarization.I do public outreach as a Braver Angels ambassador, contacting local civic organizations, colleges, communities of faith, etc. and then speaking publicly (in person or via Zoom) to them about Braver Angels and depolarization. I am also State Coordinator for a number of states that do not yet have leadership teams in place. I help develop Braver Angels activities and networks there, identify potential leadership from those states and assist them to get up to speed, thus ensuring a deeper bench for the organization nationwide.

Deputy Director, Office of Multilateral Coordination and External Affairs, Bureau of Population, Refugees, and Migration: Oversaw $1 billion humanitarian assistance budget, managed relationships with the U.S. government’s largest humanitarian partners. Migration and Refugee Officer – U.S. Mission to the EU, Brussels, Belgium: Improved U.S.-EU cooperation on migration, increasing refugee resettlement into Europe and combatting human trafficking.Senior Watch Officer – Operations Center, Executive Secretariat: Directly supported Secretary of State and other top officials in responding to crises. Peru Desk Officer – Bureau of Western Hemisphere Affairs: Coordinated full range of U.S. policy on Peru. NATO Policy Officer – Bureau of European Affairs: Forged interagency consensus for the U.S. Mission to NATO on relations with Russia and Ukraine.Economic Officer – U.S. Embassy, San Salvador, El Salvador: Promoted transportation safety and security, environmental compliance. Conducted media outreach in Spanish. Consular Officer – U.S. Consulate General, Guadalajara, Mexico: Adjudicated visa applications and provided the full range of services to U.S. citizens.
