Engaged initially to build and lead a task force to manage the delivery of significant defect resolution and functionality enhancements to a recently replaced PAS in the Trade Credit division – this project completed delivering a robust system and operating model to support business development. I then transferred to the Surety division and created a project to source a new PAS to support this niche market – end to end project management including RFP process, contract development and onboarding of both project and external vendor development teams. Successfully delivered the MVP for the new PAS, including integration to replacement systems for sub-ledger and claims and supported transition to a continuous improvement model for future functionality improvements. -

Engaged to lead a project within Group Actuarial to deliver circa £500M of capital benefit within 2 years of ownership. Activities included: the application for Abbey Solvency II Internal Model, Transitional Arrangements and revised Capital Management Policy; enhancement of Matching Adjustments portfolio and Management Actions (investment strategy, pension scheme novation and internal reinsurance). Dividends generated for 2017 totalled £240M and the delivery of the Internal Model application and internal reinsurance secured the projected dividends of £250M in 2018. Initial review of IFRS17 project requirements. -

Engaged to lead further SAP system enhancements and process improvements across all functional areas to drive reporting quality, process efficiency and update the Risk and Controls Matrix (automated and manual controls) to best practice standards. The project delivered all objectives resulting in a revised Target Operating Model within Shared Services, cost reductions and a more robust control environment leading to reduced audit review and fees. -

Engaged to lead the IMAP project to support the application for the newly created on-shore re-insurance entity; delivered lead project management support to both the Actuarial / Risk teams; developed systems and processes to deliver robust Solvency II financial results; completed the Common Application Package (CAP); managed independent model validation with Internal Audit / PwC; managed Weakness and Limitations; implemented a new Target Operating Model (TOM). The IMAP for Aviva Group was successfully delivered to and approved by the Prudential Regulation Authority (PRA). -

Piloted project from initial feasibility study to “go live;” built 14-member team; and administered £2.5m budget. Successfully transferred functions and systems to new UK team, and delivered £500k in annual cost-savings. -
Financial Controller - EuropeIveco Jan 1999 - Jan 2001After Iveco Spa acquired Seddon Atkinson Vehicles, it needed to align Seddon Atkinson’s manufacturing and reporting processes with its own business model. Transferred to Turin, Italy for 2 years to drive integration improvement efforts, streamline financial reporting, and overhaul parts business utilizing Iveco Spa-approved suppliers.
