As part of my PGCE teaching degree, I attended Barnsley College for my full-time placement, teaching Level 1 & 2 Creative Media over 8 months. After seemingly impressing, they invited me back after my placement (May 2015), and offered me my first teaching contract shortly after, teaching BTEC/UAL/NCFE "Creative Media"​, and "Media & Performance"​ courses. I'm a huge believer in experimental learning, allowing students to attain skills by carrying out real life media briefs and jobs. I've helped students not only improve their abilities within media, but placed them in positions to gain experience in the industry (work experience, voluntary, shadowing). During this year, I've also looked over the progression of PGCE students who have been placed in the Media, Music & Performance department, acting as their mentor for the 2015/16 academic year. In 2016, I helped launch BCR (Barnsley College Radio) a college initiative to help students gain hands-on experience in radio production. After the breaking up of Oakwell AM, the local market was left open for a new broadcasting platform aiming content at Barnsley FC supporters.Launching in January 2015, this weekly show quickly become a firm part of the footballing diet of die-hard Reds fans. In its first show, it became Radio Barnsley's most listened to program, and has seen legendary players, managers and chief executives through it's studio doors. After the success both on and off air, we brought in an experienced Oakwell AM presenter, and also the official Barnsley FC match-day commentator to progress the output of the program.In August 2015, we held a meeting with The Barnsley Chronicle, where we confirmed that the show would move to the towns local paper in September, broadcasting via their in-house radio station "We Are Barnsley Radio". After a successful year at the Chronicle, the show was re-launched under a different name at Dearne FM, Barnsley's local commercial radio station.The concept was then moved back online via The Vibe - Barnsley in 2018.

The show consistently reaches the maximum listening figures aloud on the stations server. The support of the show from fans has been amazing, and the show would not have existed without their constant ideas and encouragement. We now have a show that is unrivalled in our town. Providing Reds supporters a platform to talk about THEIR club for 2 solid hours, whilst not worrying about other teams stealing their air-time. • Creator of the stations first Breakfast Show in years. Advertising the role, developing ideas, and creating the necessary branding and marketing to support the show. • Through contacts and social media campaigns, we managed to bring in new talent to the station. First completing practical training, then working Independently on-air on various types of shows. Co-hosted (with Toyah Wilcox) One Voice in 2014 and 2015, Rotherham’s incredible celebration of music and singing. It is the final event in the annual Children’s Festival, which celebrates the achievements of Rotherham’s children and young people.Around 6-7 thousand children and spectators were in attendance.
