The campaign’s message reached hundreds of thousands of SEPTA commuters.Organized “Harmony Through Hockey,” a youth diversity and life skills training program, with a former neo-Nazi skinhead as a partnership of the Philadelphia Department of Recreation, The Philadelphia Flyers and the ADL. The program served as the prototype for the Ed Snider Youth Hockey Foundation.

Accomplishments include: Worked with Oprah Winfrey following a broadcast of her show that unintentionally fed an anti- Semitic canard. Winfrey subsequently consulted with ADL on other issues. Led a successful effort to thwart an effort to rename a major public thoroughfare in Chicago after a notorious racist and separatist.

Philadelphia, Pa

Accomplishments Include:Led the successful effort to draft and adopt Pennsylvania’s hate crimes statute. Pennsylvania was one of the first states to adopt such a measure, which has been used regularly to prosecute hate crimes in Pennsylvania.Dealt with a flurry of media interviews following the brutal murder of a woman at the hands of her neo-Nazi sons. Convened a local study group and a summit of national experts and community leaders to address intervention and prevention strategies for youth oriented toward hate and violence.

Accomplishments include: Organization and coordination of speaking tour of human rights figure, Jacobo Timmerman, in partnership with the Omaha World Herald. Development of Middle East conference with the University of Nebraska. Coordination of “Prejudice Project” with the University of Nebraska.

Worked with men’s lodges in Cleveland and cities in Northern Ohio for B’nai B’rith, the world’s oldest Jewish social service agency. Assisted volunteers to develop programs and strategies to recruit and retain members, raise funds for the Youth Services Appeal, and undertake community service projects.
