I have always had a curious mind and a passion for inventing things. As a young kid I loved building my own Lego designs, developing websites as a teenager and learning the relationship between force, torque and electricity using a home-made dynamo for a high school project. A bachelor in Mechanical Engineering seemed like the perfect place to satisfy my curiosity. During the bachelor we only learned to program in Matlab, which I greatly enjoyed, but I wanted more. A master in Systems and Control was a perfect balance between engineering and software development. It is during this time that I discovered my real passion, machine learning. I was hungry for more, I wanted to delve further into machine learning, software development and robotics. So, I started my PhD at the computer science department of the University of Innsbruck. During my PhD I further developed my knowledge in machine learning, specifically on probabilistic models and deep learning. In the future, I would like to find a role as machine learning engineer.I have had the opportunity to work in different countries with people from all over the world. Working in such diverse teams has always given me great pleasure. I have always been able to communicate my ideas effectively to people with different backgrounds.Outside of work I have always greatly enjoyed going outdoors, going for a nice hike in the mountains (advantage of Innsbruck) or walk in the forest. I have played field hockey for many years, gave training for 4 years and coached for 2 years. A sport I hope to play again in the future. During the rainy days, I prefer to read a good book, both fiction and non-fiction books fill my shelf.
