As a PhD-candidate in the group of Prof. Dr. Bert Meijer, my research focusses on exploiting phase separated supramolecular materials and using the fascinating morphologies of these block molecules based on discrete siloxanes. This fundamental research supports developments towards new photo- and optoelectronic applications.Besides my research, I am active in the faculty as a member of the Faculty Council and as an Emergency Response Officer.

During my time as an intern at the R&D department of Baril Coatings, I investigated the aging behaviour of their patented DualCure coatings.

In the second year of the curriculum, students have to follow a partical course in organic chemistry. Together with four other students and scientific staff, I supervised the experiments, helped when necessary and I graded the final presentations on one part of the course.

Once a month, the faculty council meets with the board of the faculty to discuss all issues within the faculty. My task was to represent the students of our faculty and to ensure that their voice was being heard and problems were solved.

During the first quartile of the academic year, new ST-freshmen have to take a practical course. It is my task, together with three other student and some scientific staff, to guide them through their experiments, help them where necessary and grade their work.

Together with three other board members, I was responsible for T.S.V. 'Jan Pieter Minckelers', the study association of the department of Chemical Engineering and Chemistry at Eindhoven University of Technology. The association had around four hundred thirty members, eighteen different committees, organised over hundred different activities per year and had an annual turnover of approximately €250.000,-. During my time as a student assistant with Euflex, I worked on transfering data from an online database to a local filer to ensure the data would be stored correctly and safely.
