• Review and analyze the current status of demand and supply of particular agricultural products (sunflower seeds, vegetables, poultry, livestock, seed production and any other relevant local agricultural produce) both at local , regional and national level; • Review and outline established market standards, and disseminate the same amongst the producer groups with the aim of maximum possible adherence to those standards;• Define the supply chain (including value chain mapping and analysis), from raw material to final product, and suggest value addition measures to be introduced at each step to increase the net profit for producers and guarantee satisfaction of end consumers;• Identify major leverage points for value chain development and market opportunities for small-holder producers and farmers;• Identify key bottlenecks for increased quality products and their marketing, and propose targeted solutions appropriate for small-holder farmers;• Develop and strengthen linkages among and between producers, Government institutions and the private sector; • Develop a Market Information System at district Level to support Producers in promoting small-scale enterprises, with special focus on sunflower seeds and vegetable, poultry, livestock and seed production;• Support partner organizations, particularly producers, in adopting a value chain approach and strengthening their part of the value chain through increased national and international market access;• In consultation with FAO Technical and Training Officers, develop appropriate training programmes for various stakeholders, particularly producer groups;• Develop case studies on the key aspects on all envisaged enterprises;• Contribute to the development of project baseline and post harvest surveys, with specific focus on profitability of interventions;• Based on the survey results, prepare an impact assessment analysis and identify lessons learnt and points of action for improvement;
Training Facilitator
To Build capacities of the staff farmers and line departments in business development through training which mainly included following Using training materials provided and working with senior Project staff including Team Leaders, prepare materials and presentation media for approximately nine courses to be delivered to Farmers Marketing Collective (FMC) Executives, Business Support Service Providers (BSSP) and Project staff including Community Development & Market Facilitators (CDMF’s). Under the guidance of the IBDC and in collaboration with the Marketing Team, prepare and schedule curricula in FMC formation and operation; book-keeping and record keeping including cash book, stock and inventory control; business operations and business plans; and running the FMC including member’s rights and responsibilities, governance and functions of office bearers. Handbooks and power point presentations are available in English and the Facilitator will assist in finalization of Urdu language versions of these and all materials.Under the guidance of the IBDC prepare evaluation tests for the participants of each course, and administer same at the conclusion of each course. Oversee and assist in presentations by other presenters and assess the training for quality and sufficiency and intervene as required to reinforce lessons.In collaboration with Project Staff, plan follow up training and additional input that may be required following this period, and liaise with the International Project Manager, to take ensure training participants Obtain maximum benefit from training and plan follow-up as required.Prepare a report at the conclusion of the Mission covering the work undertaken, the results of evaluations, and giving recommendations for further training and follow-up to provide for retention of learning.
