About Rebecca Smith

I am an accomplished educator with a Ph.D. in Educational Theory & Practice from the University of Georgia. I am currently serving as an assistant professor at Loras College. My teaching portfolio includes a range of courses such as Foundations of Education, Literature for Young Adults, Childhood Studies, Intermediate Clinical K-6, Curriculum & Instruction in Social Studies & Science, and Capstone Seminar & Portfolio.My research includes studies on attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder in preschoolers, culturally sustaining pedagogy, and the quantification of children’s identities. I have presented my research at conferences and published in academic journals.I have a diverse classroom experience spanning elementary middle school in Tennessee and upper elementary in Massachusetts.
