Serve as the organization’s subject matter expert on tech policy, manage a rapidly expanding tech advocacy program, and represent the Human Rights Campaign before industry, government, academia, and other civil rights stakeholders.

Served as subject-matter expert on key tech policy issues including First Amendment applications to online expression, digital governance, platform accountability, content moderation, Section 230, and disinformation. Represented ADL in coalition with partners across industry; policy; academia; and civil society, managed ADL’s doxxing; swatting; and cyberharassment legislation efforts, supported tech policy amicus efforts, and translated ADL research insights into actionable, bipartisan tech policy proposals.

Managed and oversaw a multimillion-dollar portfolio of grants, and collaborated with key researchers and policy experts on projects surrounding issues of online speech, information integrity, and digital democracy. Co-led thought leadership, planning, and execution of INFORMED, a major fieldwide conference with key leaders and stakeholders in government, academia, and the tech industry. Identified, analyzed, and developed grant recommendations for new foundation investment opportunities

Supported CCRI in advising major social media platforms on their content, privacy, and abuse policies. Conducted First Amendment research on the constitutionality of platform policies and proposed legislation. Analyzed theory, legal doctrine, media representation, and public perception of the First Amendment and freedom of expression, and the intersection of technology with all of these.

Researched areas of intersectionality between constitutional and cyber law with emphases on the First Amendment, the Second Amendment, and Section 230 of the Communications Decency Act of 1996. Provided editorial support to forthcoming publications.

Conducted research on policy challenges for tech companies such as Meta (then Facebook) and Spotify, and proposed steps to improve user experience by implementing and enforcing interventions to address cyber-harassment, hate speech, and the spread of disinformation. Collaborated on the drafting of cyber-harassment and analyzed state nonconsensual intimate imagery statutes to determine opportunities for optimization.

• Supported the representation of veterans who were either homeless or at-risk for homelessness• Conducted legal research and prepared legal documents pertaining to clients’ specific legal issues, including but not limited to evictions, VA benefits, discharge upgrades, and tax controversies• Maintained detailed records of client interactions and timekeeping for monthly reports• Engaged in correspondence and conducted intake interviews with clientele

• Utilized legal expertise to assist in the representation of vulnerable populations, including elderly and veteran clients with civil cases involving financial exploitation• Screened clients for signs of abuse, neglect, or financial exploitation and reported instances of fraudulent financial practices and elder abuse• Received a Segal AmeriCorps Education Award upon completion of a term of over 300 hours

• Supported representation of Broward County residents in federal tax controversies before the IRS• Drafted memoranda, offers-in-compromise, and pleadings to the IRS on behalf of taxpayers• Designed and developed multilingual communications campaigns for clientele• Conducted intake interviews in English and French to determine eligibility of clientele
