As the Executive Director I am responsible for the overall management of the association. I work with the Board of Directors to develop and implement the strategic direction for the association. I am responsible for representing our members before the Indiana General Assembly, state government agencies and the media. I collaborate with other associations and consumer groups to further the goals and mission of the Indiana Utility Shareholders Association.

As District Staff Associate, I handle a caseload of constituent matters dealing with Social Security Disability, VA benefits, immigration matters, passport issues and other areas of Federal Government services. I represent the Congressional Office at various meetings and events in the district as well as transport the Congressman while on official business throughout Indiana's 9th Congressional District.

As the Campaign Field Director for Dr. John McGoff, I was responsible for the day-to-day operations of the campaign. My responsibilities involved planning and scheduling events for the candidate throughout Indiana’s 5th Congressional District, directing voter contact, managing campaign interns and volunteers who helped out the campaign, as well as helping in the fundraising and communications aspects as the campaign dictated. I also implemented the grassroots strategies of the campaign and worked to build a network of volunteers and

In my role as intern, I assist five lobbyists with daily bill tracking of the Indiana House and Senate, monitoring specific legislation for our clients and providing research on proposed legislation as well as any potential legislation. I monitor legislative committee hearings and take notes on the testimony provided as well as monitor the two chambers and track the votes of specific bills. I am responsible for tracking legislative expenditures of the firm and maintaining a database to keep track of said expenditures. I also provide various other tasks such as general office work, preparing invoices for our clients and setting the agendas for staff meetings.

As the campaign manager for the winning Ron Grooms State Senate Campaign, I managed all day-to-day activities required by the campaign. Including: managing volunteers of the campaign, staffing the candidate at fundraisers and meetings, coordinating fundraising activities, developing grassroots efforts to direct voter contact, contacting various media outlets as the campaign dictated and all other aspects of the campaign as needed.

I worked on a campaign staff of seven people for Indiana State Senator Brandt Hershman when he ran for Indiana’s 4th Congressional District in a 13 person primary race. I was in charge of directing voter contact through phone calls, door to door literature drops and direct mailers. I staffed our candidate at various fundraisers, as well as completed other various tasks such as office work and wrote press releases as the campaign dictated.

In my internship with the Indiana State Senate, I assisted all Senate staff members including Senators, legislative assistants, and other interns with all legislative duties, as well as replied to constituent calls, emails and letters. I also staffed the Insurance and Financial Institution Committee hearings, taking notes of people offering testimony and assisting the communications department with bill reports. I was also responsible for implementing the new page photography program and taking pictures of Indiana students who came to page for their respective Senators.

In my internship, I traveled Indiana and attended various meetings of members, as well as collected data regarding the soon to be enacted property tax caps and organized, planned, and staffed events for our members.
