•Provides leadership, control and decision making and take responsibility for activity management for an agreed specialist 3rd line technology Infrastructure team•Maintains the IT environment to achieve infrastructure stability and for the day to day running of specific IT infrastructure areas to the agreed performance standards and to ensure that incidents, events and problems get closed in an efficient and consistent manner, as specified by the agreed procedures•Ensures all Infrastructure hardware is controlled and tracked in a methodical manner•Maintains a Disaster Recovery solution which ensures no downtime for the company should critical hardware fail•Reports to senior management on IT operations issues and escalates critical and major incidents to senior stakeholders•Responsible for adherence to agreed processes and procedures, and ensures compliance with quality management, risk management, security policies and procedures•Balances work across the 3rd line infrastructure team, performs agreed line management activities for the team members and establishes own milestones and team objectives and delegates responsibilities•Delivers process effectiveness and supports continuous improvement within their specialist operational area, identifying opportunities to improve service performance and cost control•Manages the budgeting, estimating, planning and objective setting across the Infrastructure team•Maintains a close collaborative working relationship with Service Delivery and Development teams to ensure the successful transition and release of new infrastructure components, understanding future technology developments and reporting back on specific operational issues•Maintains communication with first and second line support teams on the resolution of incidents•Supports Incident and Service Management with the resolution of critical major incidents/issues impacting live service
