Dr. Ben A. Bruce is the Vice President for University Advancement at Shorter University. He came to Shorter University from the Office of Institutional Advancement at Alabama Institute for Deaf and Blind (AIDB) where he served as Vice President and as Executive Director of the AIDB Foundation. He holds Doctorate of Ministry and Master of Divinity degrees from Liberty University and Master of Ministry and Bachelor of Business Administration degrees from Freed-Hardeman University where he also served as the Director of Development and Director of Annual Giving. Prior work includes Bruce serving as Vice President for University Advancement at Faulkner University. Bruce has served on the Board of Directors for Leadership Montgomery and United Way. Past experience also includes serving on the Board of Brantwood Children’s Home and the Montgomery Chamber of Commerce. He was also a member of Sunrise Rotary Club in Montgomery, Alabama. In addition to his years of institutional fundraising experience, Bruce also served as church minister for eight years and as youth minister for two years.
