Responsible for a 122-member, $120 million / year business unit, providing mail processing solutions to the US Postal Service and private industry. Successfully transitioned the business unit from provider of products into a provider of systems, solutions and services. Responsible for patenting, developing, proposing and booking the Postal Automated Redirection System (PARS) for the US Postal Service, with a total program value in excess of $1.2 billion. Successfully proposed, negotiated and booked multiple multi-year incentive based programs with the US Postal Service utilizing pay for performance contracting. EBIT for Siemens on some of these programs exceeded 40%. Actively pursued new business by correlating customer needs with our core competencies and initiating development activities to assure successful execution of programs. Identified and implemented a strategy resulting in over $1.8 billion in sole source postal automation business over ten years. Initiated new business development programs to expand the company’s offerings to additional markets including Canada Post. Organized and chaired the Company’s Patent Committee to standardize processes and procedures related to patents and other intellectual property. Assembled, motivated, and empowered a team to restructure our software engineering organization by enhancing and formalizing its processes to achieve CMM Level 3 certification. Initiated new policies & procedures to help recruit and retain high caliber professionals. Advocate of involving all employees in the success of the business by continuously sharing our vision, strategy, goals and performance; as well as encouraging feedback and improvement ideas. Responsible for allocation and management of a $1.8 million annual indirect budget and $4.8 million annual R&D and B&P budget.
